I've been busy with grad school, finalizing the divorce, getting things ready so that I can move to Houston in June, and work.
I had my 5th fill on Thursday so I am now at 8.75cc and 70 lbs gone since November. I have lost 103 since August.

2 fills done
I've had 2 fills now.
The first fill went smooth with no pain. The second fill...yeah thats a different story! The doctor put the needle in my port but couldn't seem to position it so that it would take the saline solution. At first the doctor thought that the needle bent while trying to position the needle so he took it out. The needle wasn't bent so he reinserted it. He tried finding that perfect position to get the needle so he could put the solution in but it just wasn't working. Finally the planets aligned and the right position was found. I got 2cc of solution and was sent on my way.
I get my next fill on January 27th. I am kind of surprised that I'm not nervous about it after how the 2nd fill went. I guess it all comes down to with a little discomfort for a bit is worth the changes I am making in my lifestyle.

Support Group
Tonight I went to my first weight loss surgery support group. The doctors that I go to hold a support group once a month with tips on being successful on their journey. I was a little nervous at first but it got better as the meeting went on.
There were a lot of people there (about 45) with the majority being gastric bypass or RNY. There were a few bandsters... but we were outnumbered. I liked hearing the experiences that people have had with their weight loss. It's good to get different perspectives and experiences but it's also important to remember that everyone's journey is different.
So far mine has been awesome...and i'm very pleased about that :)

Post-Op Appointment
The appointment with my doctor went great. I've lost 34 lbs since November 3rd. The doctor is happy with my progress :) I will be going in next friday to get a fill, I'm looking forward to the fill but am not looking forward to the 48 hours of fluids only after the fill. I was really looking forward to being able to go out with my friends and boyfriend for my birthday. Oh well...I'm sure I will find a tasty soup to indulge in.
I've had a lot of changes in my clothes... pants are too big, I need suspenders for my undies, and my shoes are too big. But I'm not complaining... a little annoyed that I need to go shopping but I reckon I have no choice if I want to be dressed when I lieave the house.

Cold Fronts didnt used to make me cold
I've noticed that as I've lost weight I get colder easier. It's weird... I'm used to being the one who is always hot and sweaty. I like the change though... I really do.
I just dont want to buy stuff to fit this winter when they won't fit at all by next winter. So I'll just hang in there with what I have and buy new stuff next year a few sizes smaller than what i'm in now :)

Bandster Hell
Bandster Hell is apparently the time after surgery where all the swelling has gone down and you are regaining your hunger. I had no idea it had a name until I talked to one of my friends from back in the day who had the lapband a few years ago.
I learn something new everyday. I have to make sure that I ask questions as they come up or I'll be soo lost. I'm glad that I've found great people to talk to about their tips, successes, and failures.
